Three arrested on drug charges
The execution of a search warrant at a residence on Turkey Mountain Road ended with the arrest of four people.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers seized over an ounce of methamphetamine, digital scales, and packaging materials.
45-year-old Roland Jovan Johnson and 27-year-old Marissa Shaye Cannon are charged with trafficking meth and possession of meth with the intent to distribute.
45-year-old James Darrell Cagle Jr. is charged with possession of meth and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
58-year-old David Johnson is charged with possession of meth and theft by receiving stolen property for having a stolen Cam-Am Defender vehicle.
Woman accused of letting two toddlers roam
A Rome woman was jailed over the weekend on two counts of 2nd-degree cruelty to children.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
24-year-old Alexis Nichole Scofield let her 2 and 3-year old children roam outside on Reservoir Street.
One child had no clothing, and the other had a soiled diaper.
Man charged with theft by deception
A man from Milan, Georgia, was booked into the Floyd County Jail late last week on charges of theft by deception and identity theft.
According to the arrest warrants:
47-year-old Joseph Lee Dulin went to a bank on Shorter Avenue on August 14, and used identifying information from the driver’s license of a Powder Springs man, which he altered to make as his own.
Dulin obtained a cashier’s check for $12,700 on the victim’s account.
Man charged with terroristic threats, cocaine possession
A homeless man has been charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and terroristic threats and acts.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
44-year-old Elrosse Aqueel Kemp was found with a bag containing suspected cocaine at a local hospital.
He admitted to concealing and ingesting cocaine.
Kemp also threatened a hospital security guard.
