Two charged with child cruelty
Two Rome residents were arrested on Monday on three counts of 1st-degree cruelty to children.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
37-year-old Clayton Dewayne Morgan and 28-year-old Leeali Cheyenne Morgan allowed three juveniles, ages 4, 6, and 9, to live in deplorable conditions at their residence on Blacks Bluff Road.
The home was infested with insects and covered in filth.
Woman charged with terroristic threats and acts
A Lindale woman was arrested on Monday after allegedly threatening her sister.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Mikeria Deyasmine Ferrell repeatedly told a 911 dispatcher that she was going to kill her own sister, while four children were in the home.
She is charged with terroristic threats and acts, and four counts of 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
Man accused of removing ankle monitor
A local man has been charged with interference with an electronic monitoring device.
According to jail records:
45-year-old William Thomas Lewis used a pocket knife to remove his ankle monitor back on August 19 while under the railroad bridge behind Goodwill.
In doing so, he damaged the strap of the device.
